Volunteering

Fundraising

We have regular local markets and events we attend to raise vital funds at. Opportunities include helping collect financial donations, sell our amazing stall items and check entry tickets. It’s always a fun few hours with a great bunch of people for a very worthy cause.

We also welcome people and organisations who are willing to raise money or collect donations on behalf of us. If you have a fundraising idea or would like to collect donations at your workplace for our furry friends please get in touch.

Ideas include, but are not limited to:

  • workplace Christmas giving tree
  • selling baked goods or chocolates in your workplace
  • helping with events such as our BBQs
  • hosting a kitten pyjama party with gold coin entry

Transporters

We always need transporters to help with transporting animals and pet food and items around ACT and to many rural areas in NSW. Trips include rescuing animals from pounds to come into our care and dropping off essential pet food and items to our friends in smaller less supported animal rescue groups through our RescueAssist program. We also have transporting opportunities to drop off pet food and items to pet owners in need in our local Canberra community through our PetAssist program.

Also needed are volunteers who are able to help take our fosters to vet appointments within Canberra, and picking up items when we need them most (e.g. picking up medicines from vets for us when foster carers with sick animals haven’t slept in days).

Craft and Sewing

We are very grateful for sewing and other craft volunteers to help us, often we need help when dog beds need repairing or making crate mats or heat packs for foster animals. Most of the time we can supply the materials but we appreciate the time and skills of people who can do these tasks.

Photographers & Videographers

We are always in need of photographers to take photos of our foster animals to advertise them for their forever homes. We also love having photographers and videographers at our events and helping us to show the community what we do behind the scenes.

Please submit a form if you are at any level of experience and willing to give some time to helping us.

CPR Volunteers Group (on Facebook)

If you would like to be a part of our CPR Volunteers Group, please submit a form to let us know what you’re interested in doing, and you will be included in our volunteers group.

In 2022 monthly catch ups will resume where everyone in the group meets informally to discuss activities and get to know each other.
